The NIH INCLUDE Project hosted over 250 Down syndrome (DS) researchers, self-advocates, community members and DS advocacy partners at the INCLUDE Investigators Meeting hosted on the NIH campus, April 15-16, 2024.

Here’s an overview of the event:
- 68 Early Career Scientists: This included graduate students, post-docs, staff scientists and early-career investigators who were competitively selected to present research posters. Each poster offered unique insights and perspectives on DS research and care.
- 29 Presenters: Over the span of two days, these presenters shared scientific findings and lessons learned across all three components of the INCLUDE Project including Basic Science, Cohort Development and Clinical Trials.
- Perspectives from Self-Advocates: Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from three self-advocates supporting the advancement of DS research.
- Breakout Sessions: The INCLUDE Project hosted breakout sessions to encourage topic-focused discussions on challenges and gaps, opportunities for collaboration and future directions for the field.
