NIH Cyberinfrastructure Workshop at ISMB ECCB 2025

Members from the INCLUDE Data Coordinating Center (DCC) and Gabriella Kids First Data Resource Center (DRC) attended the NIH Cyberinfrastructure workshop at the combined conferences of the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB) and European Conference on Computational Biology (ECCB) in Liverpool, United Kingdom, from July 19-24, 2025.

The NIH-funded Gabriella Miller Kids First Data Resource Center (KF-DRC) and the INCLUDE Data Coordinating Center (INCLUDE DCC) provide researchers with harmonized datasets to study pediatric cancer, structural birth defects, and conditions linked to Down syndrome. Both programs share a cloud-based analysis platform, CAVATICA, which integrates with STRIDES to stretch research funding and support discovery.

Through the jointly funded Cloud Credit Program, researchers receive support for analyzing data in the cloud. To date, Kids First has funded 31 projects with $49,000 in credits, and INCLUDE has funded 12 projects with $22,000 in credits, helping generate new tools, publications, and presentations.

Applications remain open, with ongoing office hours and 24/7 helpdesk support available to assist researchers in accelerating discovery and improving health outcomes.
