Summary
Obstructive sleep apnea is common in children with Down syndrome and current treatments such as adenotonsillectomy and positive airway pressure therapy have limited effectiveness in children with Down syndrome. This project will evaluate the combination of two medications, atomoxetine and oxybutynin, as a treatment for obstructive sleep apnea in children with Down syndrome. Effective obstructive sleep apnea therapy with these medications may lead to improved quality of life and cognition in children with Down syndrome.
